She was predeceased by: her husband Leander Gavin; her parents, Pearce Rice and Albertha Rice; her sisters, Myrtle Rice (Pearce), Rose Robinson (Doug), Dorcas Banks (Harry) and Iris Rice; and her daughters, Brenda Harding (Brian) and Rose Ricketts (Robert).
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Matthew Ricketts (Jenna), Kaitlyn Ricketts (Kris Schroeder) and Abigail Ricketts; her great grandchildren, Jodie, Jayden Ricketts and Saylor Rose Schroeder; and her brother Rev. William Rice (Rowena). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
As an expression of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted, or in keeping with Ruby's legacy of love and kindness, donations may be made in Ruby's memory in care of the family to be presented to St. Swithin's Anglican Church, Seal Cove.
