He was predeceased by: his parents, Amasa Staples and Ethel Staples (Guiggey); his brothers, Dean (late Ruth) and Murray Staples; his granddaughter Morgan Staples; and his siblings-in-law, Exa Kovacs (late Eddie), Theodore, Stanley (late Joy) and Alfred Brewer.

He is survived by: his wife Sheila Staples (Brewer); his children, Chad, John Staples and Crystal Staples Bradshaw; his grandchildren, Travis Currie, Aiden Staples, Ashley, Megan, Katie Currie and Sarah Bradshaw; his goddaughter Elisa McKinnon; his daughter Kyndal Grant (Brewer); his sister-in-law Norma Staples; his in-laws, Rhea Brewer, Linda Lou Brewer, Margaret Anne Moss (Merlin) and Kathy Dore (Peter); his pets, Murdoch and Finn; and his brother Greg Brewer. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
