He was predeceased by: his father Jack Gimby; his brother Gordon; his stepbrothers, Paul and Phil Gimby; his siblings-in-law, Susan Gimby and Mike Law; his parents-in-law, Ken and Grace McLeod; and his brother-in-law Royce McLeod.

He is survived by: his wife Lynda; and his children, Stacey and Robert (Melissa).
