He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Southan and Alma Southan (Kelly); his wife Jennie; his sisters, Patricia Post (Gerald) and Nancy Southan (Hersh Perlman); his son-in-law Ian Hunter; and his nephews, Scott and Bert Post.

He is survived by: his children, Francie Watson (Tony), Karen Southan (Donnie Wolverton) and Nicholas Southan (Kathryn); his grandchildren, Sydney, Sophie Watson, Madison and Isabella Southan; his brother Bert Southan (Martha); and his nieces, Kelly Clark (Stuart), Barbara Southan (Randy Hatheway) and Holly Green (Rod).
