He was predeceased by: his spouse Phyllis Curtis of Whitney, NB; and his parent Cecil Curtis. He is survived by: his parent Mona Curtis (Mullin); his daughters, Stacey Curtis of Quispamsis, NB and Benita Jardine (Chris) of Whitney, NB; his siblings, Lois Wightam-Budd (Dave) of Amherst, NS, Thea McEvoy (Wayne) of Whitney, NB and Brian Curtis of Miramichi, NB; and his grandchildren, Thomas, Sierra and Brandon. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, in David's memory donations may be made to the Miramichi Regional Hospital Foundation or the SPCA-Miramichi.
