He was predeceased by: his parents, William McFarlane and Olive McFarlane (Geldart); and his siblings, Shirley, Allison, Doug and Bill.

He is survived by: his sons, Jacob McFarlane and William McFarlane of Waterford; and his siblings, Moses McFarlane (Patricia) of Colpitts Settlement, Ross McFarlane (Paula) of Canaan, Robert McFarlane (Bunnie) of Petitcodiac, Wayne (Lynn) of Ontario, Kenneth (Darlene) of Petitcodiac and Eleanor Greer (Hollie) of Windsor, ON. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
