He was predeceased by: his daughter Karen Ducey; and his siblings, James Lawson, Anita Smith, Maude Sadlier, Vida Boehmer and Edwina Wilson.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Lawson (Yeomans) of Sussex; his children, Gregory Lawson of Calgary and Sandra Lawson (Phil) of Mississauga; his grandchildren, Stephanie Ducey and Derek Ducey; and also Sally (Sarah). He is also survived by 20 nieces and 14 nephews.
