Jim Chown Obituary

We bid farewell to Jim Chown of Sussex, New Brunswick, born in Kierstead Mountain, New Brunswick, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on September 6, 2024 at the age of 93. Jim touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Myles D. Chown and Mabel Chown (Parlee); and his siblings, Janice, Janet, Jeanette, Reginald, Gary, Myles E. and Morris.

He is survived by: his wife Edna Chown (Colpitts); his children, Joanne Wortman (Douglas), Steven Chown and Mark Chown (Melissa); his grandchildren, Corey Wortman, Kerry Wortman (Hester), Monica Chown and Merick Chown; his great grandchildren, Danton, Nova and Aurora; his stepgrandchildren, Josh and Sophia (Connelly); and his siblings, Murton, Leonard, Beverly Chown (Rosemary) and Sheila Warren (John). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 10th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Wallace Community Chapel (34 Sunnyside Dr, Sussex, NB E4E5L8). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, September 11th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Sussex Baptist Church\ Church (28 Church Ave, Sussex, NB E4E1Y7). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Sussex Baptist Church (28 Church Ave, Sussex, NB E4E1Y7).

Donations made to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
