He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Kirkpatrick and Tressa Kirkpatrick (Ready); and his brother Leonard. He is survived by: his wife Donna; his sisters, Dorothy Floyd (late Earl) of Sussex and Katherine Willie (Al) of Sussex; and his sister-in-law Marilyn Agnew (Mark) of Hamilton.
