He was predeceased by: his parent Hawlie Murphy; his siblings, Hilda Melnychuk (Clarence) and Russell Murphy; and also Freda Murphy. He is survived by: his parent Blanche Murphy (Coy); his children, Hawlie Murphy (Heather), Anna Flaglor (Sonny), Linda Meagher (John) and Darlene Murphy; his brother George Murphy (Laura); and also Diane MacKay (Sidney). He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
