He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Matchett and Helen Matchett (MacDonald); and his brother-in-law Ronnie Bjustrom. He is survived by: his wife Cathy Matchett (MacKay) of Sunny Corner, NB; his children, Tracy Matchett (Daniel Comfort) of Douglastown, NB and Toby Matchett (Cara Hovey) of Newcastle, NB; his siblings, Sharon Hamilton (Doug) of Fredericton, NB, Karen Bjurstrom of Sunny Corner, NB and Blake Matchett (Linda) of Fredericton, NB; his grandchildren, Samantha, Bethany, Isabella Matchett, Darien Porter and Joey Williams; and his great grandchildren, Bentley, Canaan, Ivalee Arbeau, Regan, Christin Williams, Baby Fletcher and Baby Williams. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
