She was predeceased by: her son Mark Allen Canning; and her siblings, Jacqueline Aiken and Charles Columbus. She is survived by: her husband Gregory Neil Sparkes of Parksville, B. C.; her daughter Colleen Canning (Robert McGibbon); her grandchildren, Angus, Maude and Bridget; and her sister Shelagh Columbus of Elmvale, ON. She is also survived by two nieces and three nephews.
