He was predeceased by: his father Arthur "Porky" Johnson; and his brother Wayne Johnson. He is survived by: his mother Jean G. Johnson (Tinker); his son Kyle Cleghorn; his brothers, Gerald Johnson (Kathy), David Johnson (Susan), Brian Johnson (Bonnie), Louis Johnson (Lisa) and Bruce Johnson; and his nieces and nephews, Heidi, Tanya, Cory, Jennifer, Jonathan, Kevin, Michelle, Chris and Adam.
