He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurice Bertin and Agnes Bertin (Daigle); and his siblings, Eveline (Abby Petrie), Gladys (William Casey), Lorinda (Gerald Casey), Audrey (Edward Bartlett), Joseph (Cecilia Albert), Gerald, Eldon, Eddie and Victor.

He is survived by: his spouse Theona (Arsenault); his children, Mona (Tim Sartain), Alice (Peter Scott), Carolyn, Donna (Allan Carson), Julie, Angela (Corey Sigvaldason), John Paul (Tanya Smith) and Peter (Tina McLaughlin); and his siblings, Armand (Cecilia Arsenault) and Ann (Donald Beaumaster). He is also survived by twenty one grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
