He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry P. Vanstone and Patricia J. Vanstone (Donahue); his wife Marion (Carey); his son David Joseph; his brother Beverly; and his siblings-in-law, Elizabeth Vanstone, Evelyn (Louis Ahern) and Francis Carey.
He is survived by: his children, Mary Patricia Vanstone (John Roby), Carolyn Joan McNamara (Bryan), Monica Claire Lyons (Wade), Janice Elizabeth Rice (Kirk) and Harry Peter Vanstone; his grandchildren, David Roby (Jenny Zhang), Rachel Roby (James Rassos), Charlie McNamara (Terrah), Ed McNamara (Jesse Barbour), Michael Lyons, Mark Lyons (Sophia), Patrick Lyons, Ethan Rice (Katie) and Oliver Rice; and his cousin Betty McCabe. He is also survived by 3 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and, cousins.
