He was predeceased by: his parents, Hazen Gillis and Florence Gillis (McCullough); his wife Norma Lucy (MacNichol); his siblings, Myrtis Roach, Alice Johnson and Donnie Gillis; and his siblings-in-law, Allison MacNichol (Brud) and Barbara Myles (MacNichol).
He is survived by: his children, Cathy (Ludwik) of Whitehorse and Peter (Monica) of Gatineau; his granddaughters, Tennsy and Sascha; his great grandchild Ocean; and his siblings-in-law, Elaine MacNichol, Janet MacNichol and Eldon Roach. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in memory of Norma or a charity of the donor's choice.
