He was predeceased by: his parents, Thaddée Richard and Élise Richard (Bastarache); his daughter Linda; and his siblings, Paul, Antoine, Jeanne, Corinne and Bertha.

He is survived by: his wife Louise (Bourgeois); his children, Gisèle Bissonnette (Bob) of Shediac, Maurice (Terri) of Shediac Bridge and Bernard (Patty) of Saint-Philippe; his siblings, Marie Mazerolle (late Alfred), Diane McLaughlin (Tiny) of Dieppe and Raymond (Linda) of Moncton; his grandchildren, Natalie, Danielle, Chantal, Lyne and Martin; and his great grandchildren, Jacques, Kieran, Cassie-Lynn, Misha, Michael and Stevie. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
