He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Bateman and Mabel Bateman (Duffy); his siblings, Lee Bateman (Linda) and Dora Bateman; and his grandson Liam.

He is survived by: his sons, Thomas Bateman (Jenna) and Liam Bateman (Jessica Clark); his siblings, Cecil Bateman (Noreen), Myrtle Bateman, Noreen Johansen (late Peter) and Della Bateman; his stepdaughters, Ailish and Lacey; his wife Yvonne Madden; and his uncle Mike Duffy (Uncle Mike). He is also survived by Grand-Children; and many nieces and nephews.
