He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Poirier and Olive Poirier; his children, Rhéal (Brigitte) and Louise; and his siblings, Léonce, Normand, Amand Donald (Edna), Camille, Rita Dorina, Amanda and Léola.
He is survived by: his son Guy Poirier (Ginette) of Cocagne; his grandchildren, Francine, Justin, Samantha and Amy; and his siblings, Adrien Poirier (Diane) of Scoudouc, Norbert Poirier (Gisèle) of Ste-Justine, QC, Christine Doiron (late Gérald) of Shediac Bridge and Noëlla LeBlanc (Hervé) of Shediac Bridge. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
