He was predeceased by: his parents, Ovid Lutes and Edna Lutes (Johnson); his wife Joy Lutes (Sherwood); and his siblings, Marjorie Keirstead, Malcolm, George and Milton.
He is survived by: his daughter Patricia Steeves (Blair); his grandsons, Curtis, John (Kendall) and Roy Steeves; his great grandchildren, Norah and Keegan; and his sister Catherine Hill. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
