He was predeceased by: his parents, Onézime Melanson and Elise Melanson (Gaudet); and his siblings, Odila, Sr., Maria, Nélida, Antoinette and Louis.
He is survived by: his wife Denise Melanson (Léger); his children, Pierrette Cormier (Ronald) of Saint-Paul, Raymond (Rachelle) of Dieppe, Pierre (Tracy) and Martin (George) of Saint-Paul; his grandchildren, Mark, Crystal, Mathieu, Justin, Alex, Patrick, Hailey and Zachary; his siblings, Bernadette Robichaud (Alyre) of Dieppe, Albertine Collette (Aldéo), Alma Boucher (Roger) of Sainte-Marie, Rose-Marie Bourque (Ron), Majella Collette (Richard) of Moncton and Aldéric (Oniva) of Saint-Paul; and his siblings-in-law, Gisèle Melanson (late Louis), Gerard LeBlanc (late Nélida) and Léonce Boudreau (late Antoinette). He is also survived by several nephews and nieces.
In Désiré's memory, donations may be made to the Maison Albert House or to the Saint-Paul de Kent Parish Fund.
