He was predeceased by: his parents, Germain Poitras and Simonne Poitras (Tardif); and his siblings, Monique, Maurice (Therese) and Michel.

He is survived by: his wife Pierrette Poitras (Deschenes); his children, Nathalie (Mike) of Sainte-Anne, Monique (Jeffrey) of Saint-Leonard, Alain of Saint-Leonard and Tammy (Joey) of Sainte-Anne; his grandchildren, Andy, Hayden, Korey, Jerry, Kira and Vanessa; and his siblings, Mona (Gerald Boutot) of Sainte-Anne, Normand of Saint-Leonard, Etienne (Marlene) of Maine and Marcel (Mona) of Saint-Leonard. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
