He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Melanson and Rosalie Melanson (Vautour); his brothers, Michael and Laurie; his siblings-in-law, Gail and Edward Shephard; his nephew Bruce Melanson; his niece Leah Theall; and his father-in-law Harvey Coates.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda (Coates); his children, Sarah, Ashley and Brent (Kayla Guimond); his grandchildren, Makayla, Kail, Emmett, Theo, Macie, Laine and Levi; his siblings, George (Roseann), Paul, Roseanne Shephard and Jack (Kim); his stepmother-in-law Shirley Coates; and his siblings-in-law, Daniel Coates (Michelle), Carmella Melanson and Mary-Ann Foley. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
A celebration of life was held on Sunday, March 30th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Branch #69 Legion (714 Wilson St, Saint John, NB E2M3V2).
