He was predeceased by: his spouse Marion Armstrong (Thompson); his parent Robert Armstrong; and his siblings, Darrell, Robert, Donald, Graeme, Harold and Audrey.
He is survived by: his parent Vera Rose Armstrong (Greer); his children, Paul Best (Janet) of Nova Scotia, Mark Best (Karen) and Susan Best (Peter) of Rothesay; his grandchildren, Craig (Toni), Kristin (Brett), Zachary (Nicole), Jennifer, Natalie, Colin and Curtis; his great grandchildren, Cecelia, Carter and Lily; and his brother Fred of Alberta.
