He is survived by: his children, Christa Lafontaine (Patrick), Skip Specht (Michelle Snow), Derek Specht (Siobhan Mullan), Tony Specht, Jay Specht (Tara Burke) and Jeff Specht; his sisters, Margret Kuchenbeiser and Liesel Hermann; his grandchildren, Rachael, Kathleen, Rebecca, Mitchell, Matthew, Alysia, Dustin, Jacob, Stella, Beckett, Ciarán, Ronan, Ryan and Eli; and his great grandchildren, Dane and Lily. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Walter may be made to a charity of donor's choice.
