He is survived by: his father Alfred Saunders; his sons, Justin Saunders of Saint John, Tyler Saunders of Saint John and Kyle Saunders (Amanda) of Saint John; and his brother Troy Saunders (Linda) of Nova Scotia. He is also survived by nine grandchildren.
