He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Mitchell and Helen Mitchell (Stevens); and his siblings, Dorothy, Betty, Judy, Wayne, Malcolm, Margaret, Doreen, Diane, Bobby and Marlene.
He is survived by: his wife Connie (Kelly); his children, Douglas Mitchell (Anne Marie) of Halifax, Glen Mitchell (Trudy) of Fredericton and Tanya Sturgeon (Sean) of Miramichi; his siblings, Bill Mitchell (Geraldine) of Saint John, Danny Mitchell (Brenda) of Lepreau, Joan Wilson (Doug) of Sussex, Allan Mitchell (Theresa) of Grand Lake, Harold Mitchell of Saint John and Jeanette Mitchell of Saint John; and his grandchildren, Anthony, Hannah, William, Shelby, Abigail and Layla. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.
