He was predeceased by: his parents, Thelma Hatfield (Goodwin) and Paul Hatfield; and his brothers, Jack, Larry and Brian.

He is survived by: his daughter Melinda (David Brake); his granddaughters, Zara and Jenna of Calgary, Alberta; and his brother Greg Hatfield (Melanie) of Kingston Peninsula, NB. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
