He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvina Brooks (Hooper) and Norman Brooks; and his brothers, Wayne and Roland. He is survived by: his daughter Heather; his siblings, Brian (Kathie), Ronnie (Jill) and Kimberley; his sister-in-law Cathy LeBlanc; and his granddaughters, Marley and Mazie. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
