He was predeceased by: his parents, William Downard and Helen Downard; and his brothers, Gerry and Paul. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Downard (Iliffe); his son Tim; his daughter-in-law Tricia Downard; his granddaughters, Emma and Olivia; his brother-in-law Robert Iliffe; and his friend Brian Sambourne.
