He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Shand and Irma Shand (McRae); his former wife Jennifer Shand; and his sister Jo-Anne Killam (Robin). He is survived by: his wife Twyla Shand (Fitzgerald); his children, Evan Shand (Abigail), Christina Desruisseau (Josiah) and Emma Shand; his stepson Justin Fitzgerald; his granddaughter Isabelle Desruisseau; and his siblings, Rodney Shand, Elaine Haley (David), Judy Shand, Sharon Shand-Unruh (Jim) and Tracey Shand-Waterhouse.
