Josephine Burke Obituary
We are sad to announce that on May 12, 2023, at the age of 82, Josephine Burke (Saint John, New Brunswick), born in Johnville, New Brunswick passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Kilfoil and Seretha Kilfoil (McQuade); her husband Vincent; and her siblings, Melvin, Mary and Francena (Dugan).
She is survived by: her children, Mel Burke (Sherry) and Tracey Burke (Ron Jordan); her grandchildren, Torie, Liane, Mark, Marianne, Erin and Ken; her great grandchildren, Bennett, Lily, Ethan, Brooklynn, Addison, Jensen, Penelope and Dean; her adoptive daughter Gail Hines; and her siblings, Paul (Jane), Doug Kilfoil (Maureen), Clara Cavanagh (Ray), Dorothy Foster, Connie Demerchant, Shiela Kilfoil-Alexander, Sharon Templeton, Alma Allen (Fred) and Trudi Rogers (Drake). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Jo received the 2019 Kingston Peninsula Citizen of the Year Award from the Royal Canadian Legion Peninsula Branch No. 62 in recognition of her volunteerism with the Legion and her many contributions to the community.
