Joan Margaret Doiron Obituary
It is with appreciation of a life well-lived and gratitude for many years of memories, that the family of Joan Margaret (Petley) Doiron, announces her passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, June 16, 2023. Born on August 2, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Ruth (Wellwood) Petley. Joan's passing is 20 years following the death of her loving husband and life partner Rene Doiron.
A devout catholic, Joan attended St. Peter's Catholic Church for many years and was an active member of the CWL. Joan worked for many years with the Saint Peters Sisters of Charity home for unwed mothers, and was also a proud member of the St. Elizabeth Society and a dedicated volunteer at St. Vincent De Paul.
Joan is survived by her children; Marcel (Lori) Doiron of Saint John and Michael Doiron of Austin, Texas, along with grandchildren; Joshua Charles Doiron, Mark Anthony Doiron, Ashlee Shepphard and Alexandra Rene Doiron (Texas). She is also remembered by her brothers; Alan (Sandi) Petley and sisters; Elvy Booth and Sylvia Petley along with sister in-law Joanne Petley.
In addition to her parents, Joan is predeceased by her sister Ermyn Frawsel, who is survived by daughter Dawn and husband Robert Colpitts, along with sister Phyllis Groves and brother Donald Petley.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation hours being held on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, between 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral Liturgy will be held at the Fundy Chapel on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at 10 AM. Interment to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
