He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis "Dick" Black and Marjorie Black (Lee); his sons, Lewis "Dick" and Donald Garth; and his brothers, L. Dick and J. Michael.
He is survived by: his wife Violet Black (Watson); his daughter Sarah Thompson (Ernest); his grandchildren, Gareth and Jennifer; and his sisters, Marjorie "Sookie" Dunton, Nancilee Black and Deborah Black. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
