He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Nice and Beatrice Elliott; his wife Frances Nice; his brother William Nice; his brothers-in-law, Bob Bradley, Harvey Hooper and Kenneth Meating; and his nephews, Frank Nice and Dale Hooper.

He is survived by: his son Todd Nice (Michelle); his grandchildren, Blake (Brandi) and Kayla (Nick); his child Jody Nice; his grandchildren, Isaiha (Ro) and Taylor (Jon); his son John Wood (Sherry); his grandchildren, Justys and Kaelyn; his great grandchildren, Marshawn Nice and Alister Adam; his close friend Shirley Cormier; his pet Cuddles; his siblings, Frank Nice (Sharon) of Musquash, Joan Meating of Saint John West and Verna Hooper of Back Bay; and his sister-in-law Carol Nice of Prince.
