He was predeceased by: his parents, John Henry "Harry" and Dorothy Loretta Powell (Moore); his wife Mate; and his siblings, John Henry "Jack" Powell, Helen Elizabeth Baier and Dorothy Maris Stella Briggs.
He is survived by: his children, Edgar, Beverley, Dr. Catherine and Michael Powell (Kimber Moore) of Saint John, NB; his grandchildren, Joseph Powell (Tammy) of Quispamsis, NB, Matthew Powell (Katie), Ryan Powell of Brechin, ON, Daniel Powell of Saint John, NB, Jesse Powell of Ottawa, ON and Laura Campbell of Toronto, ON; his great grandchildren, Ryan, Ruthie and Annabelle; and his brother Lee Powell (Ludy) of Vancouver, BC.
Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society, Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of one's choice are also very meaningful to the family and will have lasting benefit for other families in the future.
