He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Dempsey and Florence Dempsey (Dwyer); his wife Jean Thompson; his son Donald Dempsey; and his siblings, Ronnie, James Dempsey and Gloria Dempsey.
He is survived by: his daughters, Gloria Andrews (Jason), Amanda Dempsey (Brandon), Virginia Dempsey (Brian), Tammy Fudge (Wayne), Tanya Tays (David), Tina Thomas, Dawn Obal and Alice Thomas; his close friend Louise Short; and his siblings, Raymond Thompson, David Dempsey, Margaret Dempsey and Lori Oudbler (Dempsey). He is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
