He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Dempster and Ethel Andrews; his stepfather William Andrews; and also, Freda, Lindy Lou and Clarence.

He is survived by: his wife Freda; his children, William Dempster, Janet Donovan (Bob), Sandra Cormier (Bob), Sue Dempster (Bert), Stephen Dempster (Heather), Kevin Dempster (Stephanie) and Nancy Dempster (Jamie); his pet Molly; and his siblings, Harry, Lorne, Evangeline and Margaret. He is also survived by many grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
