He was predeceased by: his wife Catherine (Stewart); his son Dean; and his brother Tim. He is survived by: his brother John Carstensen (Meipy); his son Allan (Karyn); his stepdaughter Elizabeth Fitzpatrick (Donald); his grandchildren, Shane, Nicholas, Autumn, Alaina, Aidan, Krista, Kimberly, Matthew and Tyler; and his close friend Courtney Cameron.
