He was predeceased by: his parent Mederic Laforest; and his brothers, Laurier and Paul. He is survived by: his spouse Doris Lapointe; his parent Anne Laforest (Pelletier); his sons, Gilles (Melissa) of Grand Falls and Maurice (Debbie Ouellette) of Grand Falls; his grandchildren, Daisy, Corey, Eric and Julie; his sister Noel (Josette) of Moncton; his sister-in-law Aline (late Paul) of Grand Falls; and also, Germain, Carmel (Belinda) of Tilley, Jeannine Marie Stevens of Louisiana, Jacques (late Murielle) of Grand Falls and Valdor (Dorianne) of Saint-Andre. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
