It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Margaret Harper (Hastie) Smith (Sackville, New Brunswick), who passed away on October 4, 2019, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, William Fisher and Elizabeth Stark Hastie (Turner); her husband James; and her siblings, Helen (late Andrew Wright), Willie (late Doris), Alex (late Betty) and John.

She is survived by: her children, Arthur (Simone), Lloyd, Jean (Leonard Cormier), John, Helen (Eric Thurston) and Charles; her grandchildren, Claude (Jennifer), Christopher (Josee), Nathalie (Jeff), Sophie, Charlene (Fraser), Scott (Angela), Tanya (Phillip) and Shannon (Steven); her great grandchildren, Isabelle Smith, Myriam, Alex Smith, Emilie, Julie, Valerie Vautour, Farrah, Felicia, Marcus Frizzell, Brayden Cormier, Thurston, Waylen Belanger, Macy and Sloan Brown; her sisters, Betty (late Lloyd Crowe), Ella (late Glen Ripley) and Agnes (late Roderick Read); and her cousins, Margaret Hastie and Gladys Hartley of Scotland. She is also survived by 20 nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Margaret may be made to the Upper Dorchester Cemetery Fund or to the charity of one's choice.
