She was predeceased by: her parents, Norman Ivan Cole and Alma Cole (Bulmer); her husband Clarence Harley Smith; her daughter Melinda Doris May Blakney; and her brother Norman Ivan Cole "Bub".
She is survived by: her son Darren Harley Smith of Sackville; her siblings, Sidney Cole (Ruth) and Joan Hicks (Austin) of Miramichi, NB; and her son-in-law Lee Blakney. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Madelyn be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Alzheimer's Society of New Brunswick or to the charity of one's choice.
