He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Milton Ayer and Kathleen Lucinda (George). He is survived by: his wife Evelyn (Melanson); his children, Jeff (Wanda) and Shelly (Doug Haley); his stepdaughter Monica Lielasus of Sackville, NB; his sisters, Margaret MacPhee of St. Stephen, NB and Dorothy (Rodney Smith) of Sackville; his son Derrick; and his sister Joyce. He is also survived by three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, as well as by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of George may be made to the Sackville Memorial Hospital Foundation or Auxiliary, Middle Sackville Baptist Church, Canadian Cancer Society, Friends of the Moncton Hospital or to the charity of one's choice.
