He was predeceased by: his wife Ann; his daughter Eleanor Ann King; his parents, John Kenneth and Pearl King; his siblings, Dorothy King, Jean Morrison (Jack) and Dr. John Kenneth King (Alma); his parents-in-law, John Edgecombe (Doc) and Jean Edgecombe; and his brother-in-law Paul Fanjoy.

He is survived by: his children, Carol King, Jamie King, Angus King (Reta Dunlop) and Jean Hickman (Stephen); his grandchildren, Sarah Graham (Ben) and Alexander Hickman; his friend Patricia Hutchison; his siblings-in-law, John Edgecombe (Marilyn) and Jill Fanjoy; and his cousin John William King (Dona).
