He was predeceased by: his father Phil Johnston; his grandparents, Alexander, Deborah "Jane" Johnston, Adrien and Helen Michaud; and his uncle William Johnston.

He is survived by: his mother Adrienne Johnston of Riverview; his brother Reagan Johnston (Kelsey); his niece Avery of Ajax, ON.; his aunt Judy Ross (Michael) of Boiestown; and his cousins, Corey Ross (Zandra) of Prince George, Jeremy Ross (Lisa) of Fredericton and Adam Ross (Stephanie) of Rusagonis.
