He was predeceased by: his parents, Irvin Hickey and Annie Hickey (Shannon); and his siblings, Irvin Jr., Owen (Monica), Iva Jenkins (Arthur), Inez Mazerolle (late Alban), Ada Frenette (late Cully), Theresa Gray (late Lyle) and Francis Smith (late George).

He is survived by: his wife Emeline Hickey (MacRae); his children, Colleen Samson of Hillsborough, Rosa Brown (Derrick) of Ottawa, Glenn (Kathie), Don of Riverview and Keith (Alison) of Toronto; his grandchildren, Shannon, Andrew, Robyn, Kristen, Sean, Sarah, Brynn and Liam; his great grandchildren, Landon, Evan, Cameron, Cohan and Scottie Rose; and his sisters, Kay Delahunt (late Bill) of Moncton and Monica Bourque (Harold) of Moncton.
