She was predeceased by: her father Archie Ward. She is survived by: her mother Freda Ward; her husband David Atkinson; her children, Tiffany Ashton (Mark) and Darren Atkinson; her siblings, Ann Kelly (Jim), Ernie Ward (Irene), Walter Ward (Olive) and Dale Ward (Sherri); and her granddaughter Madison Boudreau. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Donations made to the Canadian Alzheimer's Society or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by her family.
