He was predeceased by: his parents, Jimmy Murphy and Cordelia Murphy (Hudson); his grandson Shawn; and his brothers, Wayne, John and Kenny.

He is survived by: his wife Karen Murphy (Sherb) of Richibouctou-Village; his sons, James Murphy (Syndi) of Vancouver, BC and Kevin Murphy (Joanne) of Grimsby, ON; his pets, Maggie and Misty; his siblings, Emily Murphy of Moncton, Leo Murphy (Merrillyn) of Balla Philip and Murray Murphy of Richibucto; and his sister-in-law Venerance Murphy of St. Charles. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.
