He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Norman Matchett and Lillian Matchett; his siblings, Edie MacDonald of Moncton, Norma Beauchamp (Guy) of Warwick Road, Molly Jardine (Benny Estey) of Warwick Settlement, Dot, Theresa, George and Art; his brother-in-law John; his niece Marion; his nephews, Robert and Ricky; his brother Mick; and his caregivers, Brianna and Holly. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Miramichi Food Bank, or to a memorial of one's choice.
