He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon McLaughlin and Phyllis McLaughlin; and his brother Glendon McLaughlin of Halifax. He is survived by: his wife Joanne McLaughlin (Pinnock) of Quispamsis, NB; his children, David (Linda) and Dianne (Kevin Clark); his grandchildren, Laura, Rob, Adam and Danielle; and his sister Marlene (John Lutz).
